Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a chronic condition characterized by a pattern of intrusive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that a person feels driven to perform. OCD is not simply about being "neat"; it's a debilitating disorder that can take over a person’s life. Our Approach to Treatment
For OCD and related disorders, our primary treatment is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). This therapy involves gradually exposing an individual to their fears while preventing them from engaging in their compulsive rituals. Over time, this leads to a reduction in anxiety and a break in the cycle of obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. Research has shown ERP to be the most effective psychotherapeutic treatment for OCD [2]. Our goal is to empower you with the tools to manage your symptoms and find lasting relief.
